This is the internal format, and it stays behind the scenes — you type the sentence above and the brackets are added for you. It's also why nothing that could identify a pupil is ever sent to an AI: with no name and no pronoun in it, the stored comment identifies nobody.

Do children's names go to an AI company?
No. When AI drafts a comment it only ever sees the subject, the year group and the ratings you set — never a name, never anything that identifies a child.
Can we turn the AI off entirely?
Yes, school-wide, and teachers can't switch it back on. Nothing else changes — the statement banks, writing for a whole group at once, and the names and pronouns all work exactly the same. None of that uses AI.
Where is our data held?
On UK servers, under your control. Export everything as a file whenever you need to answer a subject access request.
What if the internet drops mid-sentence?
Your work is kept on that computer and offered back next time you sign in. Nothing is lost between saves.
Who can see what?
You decide per person, per school. A head at two schools is an admin at one and a class teacher at the other, and the software knows the difference.
How long does setting up take?
About an afternoon the first time you use it. After that, setting up a new academic year is a screen you check and confirm.
